Looks great this little Fiat. I have known Steve since the late 70's and he is a gun Fiat man with an amazing history with the marque here in Perth. I have had Alfa's for 25 odd years including a superb GTV6 (updated with 3.0 and re engineered shift mechanism/Close ratio LSD transaxle) but I did buy a X/19 for a bit of fun about 22 years ago and Steve looked after it. It was one of the new body but old mechanical versions (1300/4 speed). Steve found a smashed Regatta not far from his workshop and I bought it for the larger motor and 5 speed but I ended up swapping it with Steve for some bits for a friend's 124 sport so I wonder what happened to that motor and box. No doubt he turned it into something special. I ended up painting the X/19 metallic blue and removing the shock absorber bits from the bumpers-instead mounting on the body directly for a cleaner look (of course they no longer worked as they should have). I sold the car in early 98 from memory. It was a nice car. Many years later I was lucky enough to own a beautiful 308GTB and I remember thinking that it was really a big X/19! I am sure your car will be spectacular when finished-they are an amazing (and very strong) little car with amazing practicality for a small open car-Kudos to Fiat/Bertone. Cheers Steve
