By GLHAC - Published on 10 June 2023

The Great Lakes Historic Automobile Club’s Mid Coast Ford Motorfest is back and Classic cars are a feature of the day! This flagship event is being held in John Wright Park, Tuncurry on Sunday June 11, from 8am to 2pm. Held annually for over 30 years, the Great Lakes Historical Automobile Club invites all motor clubs to join us overlooking the beautiful Cape Hawke Harbour at Tuncurry. The club expects the event to be the biggest to date with more than 280 vehicles on display. This year sees increasing interest in displays by numerous car clubs with trophies to be awarded to ‘Best Club Display’ for the winner and runner-up. Entries include the Pontiac, Morgan and Mustang owners clubs as well as strong interest from local clubs. Prizes and trophies will be presented across a broad range of vehicles. The motor show is not restricted to car clubs, so motorists with vehicles that may be of ‘special interest’ are welcome to join in with fellow enthusiasts. Come on down to John Wright Park with your vehicle from 8am to 9.30am. We are also expecting a good display of motorcycles. On display also will be a very interesting array of stationery engines from the DONKS Club. There will be performances by a group from the Australian Army Band throughout the morning. Great Lakes FM will be broadcasting live throughout the show. Hot food and coffee will be available. Entry for vehicles on display is $10, the proceeds of which will go to Great Lakes Palliative Care Group. The event is open to the public, and entry for the public is free.
