What began as videoing the simple mods they made to their cars in Marty’s Mum’s driveway over a decade ago has turned into one of YouTube’s biggest channels for DIY car modifications. An avid collector of all things late 1970s, there’s a distinct thread between cars and music for Blair (one half of Mighty Car Mods) who manages to spend equal time in the MCM garage as he does composing music for their YouTube channel, TVCs and commercial film projects.

It's a JDM model therefore it's a Fairlady z. Being a 1975 s30 means it would have had the 2.0 litre l20 engine as standard. So not really sure why he's calling it a 240 as that's incorrect.

Correction of typo.
The 1975 280Z had an L28 Bosch EFI six cylinder engine as used in the later 280ZX.
The 240Z was built from 1969 to 1973. It had a 2.4L engine. In 1974 they made a 260Z that was mostly a 240Z with different dash tail lights etc and a 2.6l carbureted engine.

The Z Car is not a 240Z. It is either a 260Z or a US 280Z. You can tell by the taillights and the large holes for US rear bumper bar shock absorber. The 280Z had an L20 Bosche EFI engine as used in the later 280ZX.
The 240Z was built from 1969 to 1973. In 1974 they made a 260Z that was mostly a 240Z with different dash tail lights etc and a 2.6l carbureted engine. In 1975 Nissan were selling US 280Z bodies as 260 Z's in Australia and UK and the 280 Z with EFI in the US. The rarest Z car is the 1974 260Z. It is different from the 240Z and 280Z. The 1974 260Z is about 15kg heavier than an earlier Z and about 60kg lighter than the 1976 260Z, 280Z.

Fantastic. What a great story. I love Blair's sentiment that we are more connected than we are different.

I remember driving one of these in the 70's and my first response was that it reminded me of driving an E Type, with the feeling of the long bonnet following me around the corner. I think a lot of motorists back then were looking for something in a sports car that reminded of an E Type but at a price they could afford. I know a young doctor friend of mine had one for that reason but when he saw my Jaguar 420 he sold his 240Z and bought a secondhand Jaguar 420 like mine and had luxury and speed.
