The Depot Historic Collection: Classic Restos - Series 43

By Shannons - Published on 16 April 2020

Fletch travels to Deniliquin, NSW home of the 'Deni Ute Muster' and now home to 'The Depot Historic Collection'. At a time when we are losing some of these unique collections around Australia, this brand new facility has an outstanding display. A time capsule of cars, trucks, buses and memorabilia from the '40s, '50s and '60's.

A visionary for the project is Neville, who with his dedicated team has brought his vision to reality in a truly spectacular way. The Depot started as a tribute to the transport industry, preserving its history, the vehicles and how things operated in days gone by. So we didn't lose this vital part of Australia's history and to evoke memories for those who visit and allow us not just to tell our children how it was but show them.

With the closing of Glenn Jennings 'Lost in the '50s Museum', Neville acquired three semi-trailer loads of items from the collection, so they would still be available for the public to see on display. Nevile acquired a 1981 Delorean which is now part of an eyecatching display at The Depot.

One of the primary reasons for the vision of the Depot was to house a beloved 1948 Bedford School Bus named Rosie - No9 in the Bedford fleet that Neville's father acquired over time. The collection has expanded to include Australian and American cars and even a French vehicle from 1908, along with a selection of Australian fire engines and an impressive 1948 American Lafrance fire engine. Of course, there are trucks and buses too.

Another unique addition at The Depot is the Cadillac room. This 5-Star function facility is available for Car Clubs to utilise as a meeting room and is also available for corporate events with fully integrated conference facilities on hand.

The Depot Historic Collection is truly remarkable in outstanding facilities. A notable inclusion in the Deniliquin community and a must-see for any motoring enthusiast.
