Opened in September 2014, The Australian Armour & Artillery Museum in Smithfield, a suburb of Cairns is the largest military display in the southern hemisphere. This is not just a military display, but a fully functional restoration centre of Military vehicles from around the world. The museum features vehicles from the early 1800's to present day, with over 140 vehicles on display with a focus on WW2. Leopard, Chieftain and Australia's own Sentinel tank all feature along with many other impressive armoured vehicles. This is a must-see museum if your heading to Cairns.
