Shannons Auctions & Insurance Brisbane Headquarters: Classic Restos - Series 53
While in Brisbane, Fletch takes the opportunity to visit Shannons newest headquarters in Eagle Farm. The home of Shannons Insurance and a new Queensland Classic Auction Showroom.
This state-of-the-art facility opened in 2021, coinciding with Shannons Auctions 40th Anniversary. Fletch highly recommends a visit if you haven't had the opportunity yet. The showroom displays a diverse range of cars and bikes, including lots for their next online Auction, giving you a chance to get up close and personal with all the Queensland lots.
The facility provides the best customer experience when it comes to discussing your Shannons Insurance, valuation of your motor vehicle, placing a car up for Auction, or becoming a registered bidder. Additionally, the facility offers onsite car parking and a Shannon Club House for Car Club meetings and functions, making it an excellent option for motoring enthusiasts.
Upon entering the massive showroom, Fletch was immediately drawn to some of the lots from the forthcoming auction. These included a 1980 Holden HZ Kingswood SL Wagon in original condition with 278,000 km on the clock and a bit of a surprise under the bonnet. A restored 1975 VW Fleetline Splitty, as Fletch calls it, a popular Kombi model with around 1.5 million sold. It was cool back then and is still cool today. Others to catch his eye were a 1930 Model A Ford Coupe in spectacular condition and a 1979 Lincoln Continental.
Fletch also had the opportunity to chat with Harry, an Auctions Sales Adviser with Shannons, about a car that, unbelievably, Fletch has seen up close before, a 2000 Toyota Century. This top-of-the-line car from Toyota's fleet is comparable to the Nissan President of the time and is typically reserved for politicians and CEOs due to its 5-litre V12 and every conceivable creature comfort.
If you're a Brisbane local or flying into Brisbane with some spare time, Fletch highly recommends dropping by Shannons at 107 Fison Avenue West, Eagle Farm, for an enjoyable experience.
