Roys Toys: Classic Restos - Series 48
Fletch travels to Canowindra in NSW to see one of the more eclectic collections that's hard to describe, but it includes all things automotive, cars, trucks, tractors, and so much more. But the interesting thing about his collection is that he has restored all of them himself here on-site in his workshop. Fletch opens container shed after container to find another vehicle or restoration, from an early '59 Holden ute and a fully restored '84 Holden Rodeo and 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280S. Each of them has a story of their acquisition and Roy's work on them.
Then there are tractors and more tractors, all fully restored by Roy. There's a Massey 744D, a Farmall 200, an International 44K that has done 35-40,000 hours and is now fully restored. Another shed and another tractor, a 1964 Fordson Super Dextra, a very popular model with a 3-cylinder Perkins engine. Roy picked this one up in 1000 bits and went about restoring it to its original condition. Others include an E27M Fordson Rail Shunter, and on a larger scale, nothing is too big a task for Roy, a 1937 fully restored Caterpillar.
Then there are trucks, and one of Roy's favourites is his '87 Dodge D5N, factory fitted GM, with 10-Speed Roadranger with flared Guards and tanks all original, and as you would expect, Roy's knows its complete history of the vehicle. According to Roy, it goes good. And this episode could be summed up with one of his favourite expressions, "All good".
