Murray Park's Mopar Yard - Crossing the USA 2023 - Ep 5: Classic Restos - Series 54
Fletch recaps the trip to Ohio, where they visited Murray Park's family.
Travel companion Mark Behr attempts to start his 1958 Chrysler Imperial purchased from Murray Park in 2017. The car has been sitting idle for the past four years, and Mark is checking the engine to see if it will turn over. During their last visit, they filled the car with Marvel Mystery Oil. Will they get it to turnover?
Mark also has another purchase still with Murray in the US, a 1973 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham. He recalls that he was attracted to the car because it was a well-equipped model with particularly good styling.
Fletch then explores Murray Park's Mopar yard, which is more like a forest or graveyard of endless Mopars. Murray walks through the yard and talks about the origins of every car. There are various models such as New Yorkers, Plymouth Furys, Imperial Crowns, Chrysler 300s, a Chrysler Town & Country Airport Limo, Chrysler Newports, Imperial Le Barons, Desotos, and many more.
It’s an intriguing voyage of discovery. Although they are all in different states of condition, some are still worthy of restoration while others are beyond repair and are just a source of spare parts, Murray explained. He is passionate about all these vehicles, remembering that they were a prized possession of a new owner at one stage of their lives. Murray believes that he has saved these from being scrapped and has now preserved them here. However, he admits that he can't save them all.
