Fletch is on the road near Albury, NSW to visit Graham a recently retired but still very active automotive panel beater and painter. At his property, he has amassed a collection of cars, together with three sheds, that are of particular interest to Fletch.
Shed one is home to a beautifully restored 1928 A Model Ford Pick Up restored over many years, the final product is a credit to Graham and his meticulous attention to detail. He says he's very proud of this one because he has done 90% of the restoration. Sitting beside the A Model in a recent barn-style shed addition is an Austin Healy 'Bugeyed' Sprite purchased back in 1966. Restored and modified to suit Graham's requirements, including a new hardtop roof.
Shed two is the aptly named the Mustang Stables, which houses two Ford Mustangs. A 1965 white convertible and a red coupe that has been here for over 15-20 years, there is a third '65 Fastback on the go, but that's still in pieces awaiting restoration. Grahams goal is to have the three different configurations of the same model Convertible, Coupe and Fastback. But all in good time.
Finally, shed three. The main shed if you like or workshop where Graham admits he spends most of his time, day and night. In the past, Graham would have had about six sports cars or hot rod projects on the go, in a year. But in the last three years, he as decided to devote more time to his projects, rather than other peoples. The workshop is a place Graham enjoys immensely, acquiring an array of specialist equipment over time allows him to do his best work. If he didn't have a skill set, he would learn how to do it from others, to become self-sufficient when it comes to restoration work. Graham's projects are something that he enjoys and gives him a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
There are never too many idle moments for Graham with enough projects on the go to last a lifetime.
