Fletch is still in New Zealand for Day 3 & 4 of Americarna - a celebration of the American Lifestyle. Fletch is overwhelmed with beautiful examples of American automotive machinery with over 900 entrants at this year's event.
There's Warwick with his rare 1946 Chevrolet Cabriolet Fleetmaster. Originally built from a CK pack in Argentina, then restored in New Zealand from a wreck after 20 years in storage.
Then a fan favourite, when some of these American Muscle cars enter the Go Stop Drags action at Americarna.
More great examples of American manufacturing with Ian and his 1956 Chrysler Imperial. A very top end model car with opulent features for the time. Ian took over the restoration seven years ago with a little help for parts from a Classic Restos favourite, Murray Park in Ohio USA.
Then Simon with his 1942 Willy's Jeep restored to original condition. But the story of how Simon acquired the car is even more interesting, dating back to the time the US Armed forces were based in New Zealand.
Finally, to wrap up this massive event there is Fiona with her classic 1971 Buick Riviera, in magnificent condition after a 2 1/2 year restoration. The car has been part of her family since 1973 and Fiona bought it with her to New Zealand because she couldn't part with it.
