1968 Ford XT GT

History

Car was purchased new in Hobart Tasmania in 1968. I found the car as a rolling shell, It had been stripped previously and all parts lost. I returned it to Qld for a complete restoration

Modifications

Mild 302 Windsor with stage 1 cam, Balance, 4 down draught Webers, Headers, electronic ignition and GT40P heads. Its a street engine and a drive car.
Gearbox is XB GT close ratio single Rail, beautiful gearbox with short shifter. Rear end is 8.75" Mustang rear end running 3.00 gears. At 110KPH its doing 2200 revs in top. 1st gear is 60 KPH.
Wheels are 9.5" x 18" rear, 8"x 18" front. Pirelli Zero Tyres. Brakes are custom made two piece discs, 6 pot front, 4 pot rear calipers. Front suspension uses 2"drop spindles with std height XY springs and Coni adjustable shocks with huge front sway bar. Rear uses 5 leaf reset springs with Gabriel shocks, no sway bar. All chrome and stainless is colour coded black and body colour.
Interior is custom made seats and console using original XT GT dash and instruments, black perforated hood lining. Steering is XF Falcon power steering box and XY column. There is no A/C.
