You're right, oil001, the Series III (Jaguar's own usage was Series 2, Series III, but don't ask me why!) does suffer from severe rust issues around both screens. It has never been 'terminal' in my experience but certainly serious. It gets yr attention when you see how far that rust can spread. This was a case of one step forwards, two back. But in most other respects I think the final version is best - better looking, quite a lot faster, more fuel-efficient, better packaged. (When I bought my Squadron Blue Series 2 I got a spare Series III rear seat with it. Guess what, that seat did not fit into a Series 2 because the older car had a narrowere interior in the rear.
