Interesting topic freeway. I've always loved the chrome hubcaps that were fitted to early model Holdens before full wheel-covers became the fashion from the late 1960s. Although I can't find a close-up photo, I've always loved the 'starfish' wheel-covers that were fitted to my dad's XW Fairmont when I was kid (like those shown in the photo below). I adored that car (302 V8/auto/Polar White/Tan trim) and particularly its unique wheel-covers which looked so good with baggy Aquajets. They not only looked sharp - they actually were sharp. The edges of those spokes were like knife blades and I had to be careful when helping him wash it to avoid cutting my fingers on them!
