I didn't replace the welch plugs madmuz, they looked ok (i.e. not rusty or obviously weeping) although I was too lazy to mask them off. I note that the last person who painted this engine didn't mask them off either ha ha. I don't know the trim level of this car AAACV8, most of the badges are missing although I strongly suspect it's a 500, the padded black vinyl roof might indicate something else. Got the heads yesterday afternoon, quick trip to Tamworth in the Chrysler was nice to stretch it's legs. Pistons have been installed on cleaned up rods. It wasn't cheap but all I need to do is paint the heads and plop them into place. Will install the pistons and rods while I'm waiting for the paint to dry. From there, oil pump, sump, intake manifold, distributor (hopefully the right way around). Dump in car, fingers crossed it'll start.
