1965 huh? Without knowing the V8 muscle Ford and GM-H were about to unleash, at the time my pick would definitely have been the AP6 V8. In 1965 the local Valiant was still riding high as the local performance leader thanks to its gutsy 225 Slant Six, so the arrival of that ripper 273cid small-block (the first V8 offered by the big three) consolidated that perception and made its six cylinder rivals seem feeble by comparison. What a great era for local Mopar fans, albeit short-lived!
