Don't be afraid to buy an Alfa Matt. The unreliability thing is most definitely a myth perpetrated by the likes of Jeremy Clarkson. I have owned thirteen of them and they have all been extremely reliable. The important thing is to get them serviced by an experienced Alfa mechanic. Alfa engines are indestructible. Older ones like 75s have often been messed with by idiots, but once you get them back to how they should be, they are very reliable. Do yourself a favour and let your heart rule. Life is too short to spend hours driving boring cars and looking at ugly ones. Alfas are driver's cars like no other and will put a smile on your face every time you drive them. Look around for a GT 3.2 V6 like mine and you won't want to drive anything else, except maybe a new Giulia.
