Yes, exciting new models in those early post-war years were thin on the ground for obvious reasons. However, I was amazed at how quickly car companies (particularly in Britain) got cracking when hostilities ended in 1945 despite damaged factories, fuel rationing, material shortages etc. To produce icons like the MG TC, Jaguar XK120 and Land Rover by 1948 showed Britain's fighting spirit had not diminished!
