"Survivor" cars are the next big thing in collectable cars and have been so for some time in the USA ... check out this website : http://www.survivorcollectorcar.com/ ... and the theme has spawned a new magazine on the Australian newsagent racks. For those who are interested, issue #3 of Survivor Car Australia magazine has only just been released and it's good to see that the subject matter isn't solely restricted to locally manufactured vehicles. As for personal experience, my brother and I purchased a 1973 VJ Valiant Charger E48 at a Shannons auction in 2012 and we're still unsure what direction to take with the car ... it didn't require much work to make it a goer, but it's not yet strictly roadworthy due to rust that has afflicted the boot floor ... for the time being, we've left the original Victorian black and white plates on the car and acquire a permit for each occasion that we take it to shows ... in its current state of faded silver paint, worn upholstery and less than perfectly reflective W35 alloy wheels, it does nevertheless manage to draw quite a bit of attention.
