Further to Silvercloud's observations on BMC's indicators, my Major Elite was an exception where it just has a plain lever and winking lights on the dashboard. Some others had the light as part of the switch above the horn push. The green flashing light on the end of the stalk was almost unique to BMC; I remember hearing comments about the same unit on a Vanden Plas Princess 4 Litre R as the Morris Mini 850 sitting next to it in a showroom.
