Yes, you make a good point about airbags these days madmuz. I'm told 9 and 3 is the safest hand positioning in terms of avoiding airbag injury and that even the old 10 and 2 (which I see lots of people doing) puts your hands and arms in the firing line. I would assume open-armed shuffling of the rim rather than arms crossing over would also be the safest option. I don't know how those NASCAR drivers steer those monsters given such restricted arm movement. They certainly wouldn't be sitting so close to their steering wheels if they had airbags in them!
