Arthur Hayward also built a one-off Statesman Caprice Overlander 4x4 (below) which Andy Stott and co-driver Mark Davies entered in four of the annual 'Wynns Safari' off-road enduros between 1985 and 1988 - and finished all of them! They also scored Top 20 results in the first and second events, which proved how incredibly rugged these vehicles were. I'd love to know where this unique Statesman ended up. Would be quite the conversation starter at Cars & Coffee!
