I think I bought the first Japanese car in our street/avenue when we arrived in Adelaide from the UK as a family in August 1970. The car was a 1969 Toyota Corolla - replacing the '63 105E Ford Anglia which was rusting to pieces back in Wales due to road salt - put down by local councils during the Winter months. I absolutely loved the Corolla from the minute I took control of it and never looked back from that day on.
