I've never had any real performance car, luxo-barge, or Euro exotic. I guess the fact I've owned my 1800 for 47 years means it's a keeper, and the three others under the house likewise. I've no real desire to own an FE or EJ Holden again, but I do regret selling a Wolseley 1500. They really were a delight and I reckon with all the improvements made on the Major Elite, it fills that gap. The 1275LS Mini is an obvious keeper and the Freeway because of the places around Australia it's taken me and the people I've met. I shed a tear when the 100E Anglia was virtually given away, again for the same reasons that it had taken us from one end of Europe to the other. I miss selling that butt of every joke about British Leyland, a '74 Austin Maxi because of its sheer versatility, rather like DrJohn's Renault 16. Can't quite make six keepers, but the four I have now will do me!
