John192 it is great to have someone who can elaborate on a subject with the facts, and yes I quite accept that only minimal suspension / steering parts from the Herald were adopted by Lotus. ........The Triumph has a 24 foot turning circle which was outstanding in that time frame, I could turn inside the circle of a Morris 1100 and many others with mine. . The Herald was also known to have powered the Amphibious car ! Not sure if it is FIBREGLASS body ?? It was a weedy 43 hp donk but it did the job. One report says it used the 4-speed VW gearbox. .Photos of Triumph Herald powered Amphibious car below :
