Two of the press Morris 1100Ss put a few extra miles on the clock by competing in the 1967 Gallaher 500 at Bathurst. Both finished - #25 was sponsored by Everybodys magazine and driven by two women completing 110 laps, while #13 did 108. Perfect mobile chicanes for the Falcon GTs. Their fate is unknown. This Cooper S started off as press car until it was hit from behind by a truck and pushed into an EK Holden with a tow bar. I was driving it and while unhurt, retrieved the two fuel caps from both sides of the road. Not up to lending to the press, it was perfect for visiting race and rally driver from the UK, Tony Fall to enter the Rothmans Rally. I'm not sure he finished, but MarkO could possibly have the results. Fall was later to come back to Oz driving an 1800 into 24th place in the London-Sydney Marathon.
