The opening of Adelaide International Raceway in 1972 featured a Drag Racing event with the 2000hp (US) nitro-burning Mustang Funny Car 'Trojan Horse' topping the bill. I will never forget the spectacle of that night and the effect it had on me - as I got involved in the sport myself following a Street Meet several months later.
