There was a "Goss Special" Falcon hardtop in and around the suburb when I grew up and it seemed very, very cool to me - the paint was wild. Brock's HDT set the bar though - it always seemed like there were dozens of people trying to set up the equivalent for Fords but never quite getting there - even Goss himself with more special XD (XE?) in the early eighties. I suppose it didn't help that Ford stopped putting V8s into Falcons and the various pretenders were forced (ha ha) to turbocharge the boat anchor 4.1 to compete. The formula got tired quickly - get a Momo steering wheel and some Scheel seats, ring up the local signwriter to pinstripe it, have to have Bilsteins and "our own special design" springs. It never seemed like they quite understood why what Brock was doing was different and even Brock forgot why towards the end. edit: also need a bespoke body kit! Bonus points if it was hideous and/or obviously had never seen a wind tunnel. Despite the fact that I have no great love for Commodores, the full fat VH Group 3 SS I can make an exception for if somebody wants to give me theirs. In red please and make sure the outrageous strakes are still there on the front guards.
