Let us not forgot Briggs Cunningham's remarkable performance with a pair of Series 61 Cadillac coupes in the 1950 Le Mans 24 Hour. One of his team cars was a mostly stock Coupe de Ville with a few mods like a second fuel tank etc while the other was fitted with a bizarre-looking streamlined body which the French nicknamed 'Le Monstre' for obvious reasons (both cars shown below). The two Caddies performed surprisingly well, with the stock coupe finishing 10th outright ahead of Le Monstre in 11th after getting bogged after a spin early in the race.
