Thanks freeway, those brochures are as classic as the vehicle! And Silvercloud, you're right about the first-gen Bongo's suitability for narrow city streets. According to dimensions I found online, it had a tiny 2000mm/79-inch wheelbase, was less than 4.0 metres long, 1.5 metres wide, 1.7 metres high and only weighed 885kg. Although I've never given it much thought, you probably also know that its name was not inspired by the famous bongo drum as widely thought at the time. Mazda was instead enamoured by the African Bongo, which is a type of antelope that looks nothing like a small van (LOL).
