Arguably the wildest HiLuxes I've seen were the seventh-gen models specially prepared by the Icelandic company Arctic Trucks for a Top Gear special in 2007. Clarkson and May shared one of those towering Toyotas, in a race with Hammond on a dog-sled to be first to reach the Magnetic North Pole. It was a very entertaining adventure in Top Gear tradition and the highly modified HiLuxes seemed to share top billing with the three Amigos as the stars of the show. They had re-engineered suspensions, enormous 38-inch studded snow tyres, huge wheel-arch flares, dual winches and many other mods tailor-made for this challenge. I have this episode on DVD and love to watch it from time to time. Those big red HiLux utes were awesome!
