Yes freeway, it's amazing how creative sales/marketing/product-planning departments can get when they have to shift slow-selling stock. Let's not forget that Chrysler, like Ford and Holden, was struggling to find buyers for its VJ Charger at around the same time. So, it too offered a limited edition run (399 units) called the Sportsman (below), with boldly contrasting red and white paint treatment a red plaid cloth seat trim. Typically garish 1970s choice of colours and fabrics (with those tartan-like seats they could have called it the Scotsman!) but they managed to sell all of them. Chrysler had another crack at limited edition production with the following VK Charger called the White Knight, based on a similar red and white theme, but they only built 200 of those. Both very collectable today.
