In addition to black and gold, I've always found dark green with metallic gold a very appealing combination. Sir Jack used this patriotic paint scheme with great effect on his Brabham F1 single-seaters for many years, but it's been equally eye-catching when used (with stripes) on road cars. Two that stand-out for me were the Capri GT and HT Monaro GTS but I'm sure there were others.
