I know the long skinny small plate is nothing important, the other one has only trim/driveline/paint codes... it is only the compliance plate they are interested in.... in Qld they are interested in the seating capacity and you have to have the seats and belts for what the plate says, or its another $88 for a little blue plate (mod plate) just get the biggest number stamps you can find, stamp on the numbers that are on the paperwork from the last owner.... ask him for a stat dec to cover your bottom.... so you are restamping the original numbers 'in good faith' (as in, not illegally changing the numbers) My advice tho, put some tape where the number will be stamped, draw on the letters and numbers.... check the stamp is correct way up (I said, don't ask lol) and punch them in.... check, check and double check before the stamping.... mistakes are so annoying.
Thanks mad muz will definitely be doing that stat dec and the guy won't have a problem doing that I think. Ive attached the purchase receipt and the plates. Do we know which ones are the VIN, which ones the chassis number and engine number (well that ones already on the receipt so no worries) just so I don't look like a noob is vic roads or the club guy is hitting a brick wall. From the receipt I don't see the VIN being the standard 17 figure vin?
