The MR2 was a great little car. The car that Bondy and I drove in 1991 was an ex press test car, it was in touched save routine services before the race. It was flogged mercilessly for the full 12 hours and then it became his every day drive car for the next 10 years. For the next 3 years we raced MR2’s borrowed from Toyota’s press fleet and save for a clutch failure in 1993 all were fast and reliable.
