The Volvo 240 series but especially the 242 GT. They looked old on release, like Volvo knew they couldn’t continue making italianesque sedans like the lovely Amazon, but their drawing team lost all their protractors and only had set squares left. They kinda sorta fixed it in the eighties with the more subtle 700 and 900 cars but a decade of being out of time was hard to recover from. I know they’re cult cars and people love them but they all look like a stack of cheese blocks after a big sale at woolies.
