All the big stuff built here in Australia looked 'over the top' to me when I first arrived in Adelaide in 1970. However, although preferring small cars myself, I soon got into the production of larger vehicles when I started working at the Holden assembly plant in Elizabeth in 1972. Five years later and no longer working for GMH I found myself in need of 'something bigger' in order to tow my new track-only Toyota 700 Drag car to A.I.R. on race days so when I spotted this 1974 XB Fairmont GS in a car yard it was love at first sight.
