That's a weird reverse rake windscreen!
Alan Butler, the Chairman of the De Havilland Aircraft Company, originally ordered the car. He specified it from coachmaker HJ Mulliner with the front-sloping windshield because that made the vehicle 15 percent more aerodynamic.
I reckon the only vehicle that looked any good with a reverse rake windscreen was the Chev or Ford Blitz of WW2. Based on the Canadian Military Pattern trucks, aerodynamics weren't in the designers' mind at all - it stopped reflections in the glass and also served as a bit of extra shade. No amount of restyling would be an improvement - it was perfect. My dad drove plenty of them in the troop convoys up to Darwin through Central Australia, just in time for the bombing.
