At a car show/swap meet, my Austin Maxi was in the entry queue when the clutch hydraulics decided enough was enough. How I managed not to hit my mate's Subaru in front of me was a miracle, as I had to keep restarting as the queue inched forward. Lot of derisory comments from the rest of the people there but you get used to it. I thought I would have to get it towed home at the end of the day, but it started up and drove home as if nothing was wrong. Still don't know why!
