Talking of BMWs, I coded my wife's car this morning. I have done it before with a laptop and cable. This time I used an inexpensive app on my smartphone and a cheap OBD dongle. I changed the indicators to 5 flashes from 3 when just touching the stalk, changed light settings such as how long they stay on when exiting the car, brightness of the headlight angel eyes and a couple of other settings. There is a lot that can be customised or added to the car and very easily.
