I'm old enough - just - to remember this illustration in The Modern World Book of Motors, and listening to my two older brothers carrying on about how modern and futuristic the new Studebakers were. We all thought it was fantastic and a world away from our '38 Chev. I had always liked them, but over 70 years later, I'm beginning to think like you DrJohn!
