I know I march to a slightly different drummer (and always out of step), but I still think one of the best looking Post War US cars was the 1965 Chev Corvair. The sheer simplicity of line, with hardly any chrome adornment - just enough - makes this almost timeless. We all know the story of the car, GM was already phasing it out before Ralph Nader, and as a result, they hardly changed a thing for five seasons from 1965 to 1969 letting it fade away. Even the base 500 (beige in these pics) doesn't look too plain-jane. The last pic is a '66 and was at Coffee & Cars at Coorparoo in Brisbane a week or so back. Make mine a '66 Corsa Sport Coupe with Turbo-Charged 164 and 4 speed.
