Too old if you can remember the excitement of a new Holden release. By the time the FE came out I was busy cutting newspaper ads out and pasting them in scrap books. (Home-made glue from flour and water....) I was at the launch of the FB in January 1960 in Portland, Victoria. We were on holidays and while all my friends were on the beach, I waited breathlessly outside the local Holden dealer. There was a big crepe paper barrier like they have nowadays at AFL matches. At the stroke of 9:00 am a pink and grey Special Sedan broke through the barrier - jaw-dropping stuff for an impressionable spotty faced lad like me! Anyone go to Holden (or any other make) launches today?
