I agree with you Motown1 with the original Toronado -one of the most striking cars for 1966. Everything Oldsmobile did to the Toro from 1967 onwards made it worse losing that purity of line so difficult in car of that size. My pick for the US car of that period rests with the Chev Corvair, restyled in '65 - and GM left it alone as its sales went into freefall till 1969. The Fiat 850 Coupe has to be up there as well.
