Took me a while to find this, but I finally dug it out. The start of the Sandown Saloon Car Race on November 29th 1964. The big Galaxie about to demolish two Studebaker Larks, a 3.8 litre Jaguar, AP5 Valiant, the 179M EH, Mark III Zephyr and a Fiat 2300. The Cortinas and Minis are in the ruck and the Alfa must be there. Amazingly, there was also a yellow Morris 1100 which must acted as a road-hump for the stormin' Galaxie, but the Morris was accompanied by a Triumph Herald and a Renault R8. Two things - imported American cars were so rare in this country at the time, and as teenagers we would have stopped to look at something as exotic as a 1963 Galaxie parked in the street. Secondly, saloon car races were such a variety of entries if this event is any thing to go by; seven litres of Galaxie sharing the track with less than a litre of Herald.
