I visited the workshop a couple of days ago and they are steadily working away on the panel repairs. They are not leaving the car to languish. Amongst other areas, they replaced a sill section. I had supplied a Rarespares part but they made their own as one of the angles in the reproduction part was not as sharp as the original. The welder, Tony, is magic with his fabricating and welding skills. As an occasional time filler, I have done some minor work on the XF Falcon 4.1. Later on, I want to freshen up the engine bay, in particular the rocker cover and exhaust manifold. The photo is not of my car but it is similar. I have stripped off the the emissions plumbing for a cleaner appearance. We do not have roadworthy inspections here as long as the vehicle remains licensed. The factory rocker cover colour is a satin black and the cast iron exhaust manifold is surface rust colour. It is not interesting to look at. I was thinking black for the exhaust manifold. For the rocker cover, what do others think? Keep it black? Go for a Ford blue to give it some life, or another colour?
