I too was 'hooked' on Japanese cars (all Toyotas) from 1970 to 1977. The car I became most attached to was my '72 Toyota Celica LT. Look it up in my garage to find out why I considered the car to be nothing short of a master stroke by Toyota. In 1977 it suddenly hit me that here was I, living the dream here in Australia and I still hadn't backed the local car industry so that was when I finally came to my senses by buying a 1974 302ci XB Fairmont and even now - when I look back over the years- nothing else I have owned has surpassed both its performance and its sheer presence on the road.
