I was given similar books DrJohn and they have survived along with my introduction to motoring topics, Motor Manual, Wheels and Modern Motor. However, one book that opened my eyes was seen in just about every Australian household - Practical Australian Motorist Illustrated. It was a Herald & Weekly Times publication and this showed me how things worked. Others include Year books and Annuals which as can be seen, are showing their age, but they're invaluable and cherished. At this stage of my life, I'm not too embarrassed to admit that the book which may have started the whole thing was The Taxi that Hurried; the whole family must have heard my mum read it to me a thousand times.
