Drove myself on my 18th birthday in 1978 to Carlton VicRoads to do my driving test. Did it in my blue 1964 Cortina Mk1. I lost half a mark for driving too close to the center line. I drove home and on the way got pulled over by the police for a noisy exhaust. I managed to talk my way out of a fine or a canary.
