Great piece David. You have also echoed my exact thoughts on the E type styling. But as I have said before, a heap of people love it like no other and from what I understand it offered performance/price better than anything. A Ferrari 250 GTO of the same era ('62 and admittedly a much more rare, competition type car not to mention very expensive in period) does this type of look (long bonnet, short rear) better than anything. If you have nothing to do check out a YouTube clip '1962 Ferrari 250 GTO INCREDIBLE V12 Sounds in London' which is nuts. The world's most expensive car mincing through London streets. Nice but risky.
