More waiting in regard to the smoothing and paintwork. Meanwhile, I have commenced a second restoration of the dashboard. I originally repaired it to a standard that allowed it to be recovered in vinyl, about a year ago. I was happy with the result however the glue holding the vinyl started to give way. Good thing that I had the benefit of time before installing it. Now I am using a polyurethane filler to repair the cracks. If that turns out alright I will spray the dashboard with a vinyl paint. If it looks bad, I will have to bite the bullet and buy a reproduction unit. While that is happening, I have also been working on the unusable Air Chief radio. I went to Altronics today to buy a stereo amplifier kit. I haven't soldered a kit for over thirty years. This will marry up to the bluetooth unit, hopefully, and all inside the old case.
